The Ohio Machine is back for its second season and is set with its regular season roster for Saturday, May 4, when it takes on the Denver Outlaws. The 2013 “OSU Sports Medicine Night” Home Opener for the Machine will be a night to remember and a chance to watch the best players in the world play in your backyard. As part of the “OSU Sports Medicine Night,” the first 4,000 fans will receive exclusive Ohio Machine seat cushions sponsored by OSU Wexner Medical Center and a 2013 Machine schedule poster.
Returning Machine players and some of the biggest names in the game of lacrosse Chazz Woodson, Jim Connolly, Connor Martin, Steele Stanwick, Greg Bice and Kyle Hartzell are ready for a successful second season and to open up the season with a win at home. “I’m excited for this home opener. I know our great fans will be there,” said Machine defenseman Greg Bice. “It’s a chance to test ourselves with our new players and improved roster – we’re excited to perform for a great crowd. I’m expecting great things this season and super jacked for it to begin.”
Selby Stadium will be home field for the Machine once again and will host an exciting game for fans to experience. The Machine has partnered with Games2U to bring fun entertainment in the Machine Fan Zone with bouncy houses, a video game trailer and much more!
On top of watching the fastest growing sport in America right in front of you, fans in attendance will also have a chance to participate in many contests throughout the night including a contest sponsored by Socius who will be giving the lucky fan who wins their contest an Xbox 360 during the home opener. Following the close of the Machine’s home opener, fans will be treated to a fireworks extravaganza show presented by Fireball Whiskey to complete the exciting night!
As part of the “OSU Sports Medicine Night,” the Ohio Machine will be donating $3 from every ticket sold through this link to the OSU Concussion Research and Prevention Fund. The fund is setup to help communicate and educate athletes on the risks and prevention of concussions. By clicking here and purchasing tickets, $3 will be donated.
The Machine’s home opener is also “College Night” where students receive $10 walk-up tickets and $1 concession specials throughout the night with a valid college ID.
Fans will also be able to enjoy “Party on the Patio” before the game at Amato’s Woodfired Pizza in downtown Delaware where there will be drink and food specials for Machine fans!
